Feldspar Powder

Various leading industries are widely placing orders for the feldspar powder as these are of excellent quality and are highly effective in their respective applications.

Feldspar comprises of a group of minerals, containing potassium, sodium, calcium and aluminum silicates. They are the most common rock-forming minerals. The common types of feldspar found on the earth’s crust are as listed below:-

Potash Feldspar Powder (K2O, Al2O3, SiO2)
Soda Feldspar Powder (Na2O, Al2O3, SiO2)
Feldspar Lumps Emmanuel
The commercial feldspar is Potash Feldspar. The potassium molecule is replaced by sodium to some extent and hence, Potash feldspar usually contains a small percentage of sodium. The composition range of the commercial feldspar varies within the limits of Potash, Soda and Silica.

Potash and Soda feldspar occur as essential constituents of granite, syenite and gneisses. However, workable deposits are found in pegmatite veins consisting mainly of feldspar, quartz-feldspar veins and also occur with mica pegmatites. Feldspar is found in abundance in Andhra Pradesh and a Northwest part of India.

Feldspar is Generally Used for Three Purposes :
1. In making the body composition of several types of Ceramic, porcelain, china and earthenware and also in the preparation of glazes and enamel.
2. As an important ingredient in the glass sand batch.
3. As a bonding agent in the manufacture of bonded abrasives like wheels and discs of garnet, corundum, emery etc.

Feldspar is mainly used as bonding agent along with magnesium oxide, magnesium chloride and other synthetic glue in the manufacture of abrasives, wheels, discs and other shapes.
